Forschungs- und Interessensschwerpunkte:
Gender studies, music by women composers in Denmark in the 19th and early 20th century, music editing, the founding of musicology as an academic discipline, outreach of musicology in society at large, the concept of New Nordic Musicology


Lisbeth Ahlgren Jensen studied musicology at Copenhagen University, from 1990 to 1993 she had a fellowship to do a project on Danish women composers in the early 19th century (published in Det kvindelige spillerum, 2007). 1996-97 she was research assistant at a project on Nordic Salon Culture 1750-1850 at Odense University, 1997-98 assistant professor in music history at Copenhagen University, 2000-2011 editor at the Carl Nielsen Edition and Danish Center for Music Publication (at The Royal Danish Library). Also free-lance writer for the Danish National Encyclopedia and Biographical Dictionary on Danish Women. Presently post. doc. discussing the contributions of the music historian Hortense Panum (1856-1933) to musicology.
